Esri Hackathon Competition
Introducing Wordmap, an educational learning tool that provides visual context to written content. Wordmap allows you to search anything you're interested in learning and pinpoints its location on a global scale. It offers additional information by with text and images and offers details on relevant events related to your query.
Our team placed 2nd in the semi-finalist round, securing a spot to present in the final round of the hackathon competition.
Hackathon project hosted by the internship program at Esri. Created Wordmap from scratch over one weekend, completing this project in approximately 25 hours.
THE TEAM
Worked with a diverse team of five, including software developers, a GIS specialist, an entrepreneur, and a designer, to create Wordmap.
MY ROLE
My role as the designer was to create the logo and brand identity for Wordmap & provide art direction on the user interface to ensure everything was visually consistent, eye-catching, and ideas were communicated effectively. Additionally, created the presentation graphics and provided print informational pamphlets for judges.
FINALIST PRESENTATIONS
Our team had the opportunity to present Wordmap, to hundreds of Esri employees at the finalist round of Esri's 2024 Intern Hackathon Competition. A total of 80 interns in 15 teams participated in the competition over one weekend, where we designed and developed new product utilizing Esri technology.
